Design for different ways of interacting

Core content should work with a keyboard, assistive technology, touch or a conventional linear page. Decorative visualizations cannot be the only way to understand an important idea.

Motion and media controls

Respect reduced motion and lower bandwidth, provide video captions or transcripts, readable text alternatives for diagrams and meaningful control labels. Users should never be forced to wait through a cinematic introduction.

Test and improve

The target is WCAG 2.2 AA where applicable, but conformity is not asserted without audit evidence. Define testing ownership, representative mobile devices, issue prioritization and a functioning feedback channel before launch.
